Day 1 at DENSI 2012

I arrived at the Bozeman airport this morning and made my way to
Montana State University, the site of Discovery Education Network
Summer Institute for 2012.  After registration we had a "meet and
greet" over a barbeque, then listened to a fascinating presentation
from Reed Timmer, a professional meteorologist, storm chaser and star of the Discovery Channel show “Storm Chasers”.  When
everyone else is heading away from tornadoes and severe thunderstorms,
Reed heads into them to gather valuable information about their
behavior and the conditions under which they form. Reed is passionate about what he does and believes that teachers can create that passion in their students by what they teach in the classroom.
